Both insurance companies and employers conduct Workcover fraud suspicion investigations. Insurance companies become hamstrung once a claim is accepted, as their focus must be the rehabilitation of the injured worker. They may withdraw from engagement with the employer at this time; they may also accept a claim despite the protests of the employer.
