Employee Investigation
There are times when an employee, a worker, may be suspected of acting in their own best interest, not that of the employer. Where this affects the workers reputation, their bottom line, or continued operation, this needs to be investigated; for a private investigation, a licensed private investigator, phone 1300 966 103, email us at [email protected], or for 24/7 inquiries go to Contact Us, for a private detective, free quotes.
Employee investigation may involve things such as a manager using the workplace to set up his own business in opposition, diverting funds and business inquiries to their own competing business. For example the employee, the manager, works for A; they receive an inquiry and offer to send a quote, but the quote is sent from B, the new company quietly set up. This is a breach of employee obligations, our investigators are familiar with this concept in law.
Other examples include a foreman scrimping on material for a job, using a cheap option, so the more expensive material is delivered to his home, or over ordering. Sometimes it is using the company equipment for a private cash business. This is a number of things, stealing as a servant, and fraud, come to mind.
Solar panel installers is another example, where a small group of installers (or apprentices) get together, and decide to flog off the cheap panels they are pulling down as 'cheap' cash, or dodgy invoice installs, themselves (sometimes not telling the company 'client' that the panels are second hand). The company name, company material, company vehicles was used, the vicarious liability risk of the company was huge.
Other employee investigation matters may relate to a worker and a WorkCover claim, a workplace injury claim, for an injury not related to work, or exaggeration and a WorkCover scam, WorkCover fraud. We use private investigator surveillance, factual investigation, a background check or other inquiries, as appropriate, to investigate a claim, or suspicion, to gather evidence for court, a tribunal, or negotiation.
Some employee claims relate to investigation of bullying in the workplace, harassment, stalking, or embezzlement; these matters must be investigated, not brushed off. We also investigate falsified CVs, and claims of qualifications. An employee investigation is undertaken as part of due diligence, for QA purposes where there are suspicions about worksite activity, or for fraud and theft.
